seal-resized-smallerNew Release! Taken by the Navy SEAL

Blurb: Navy SEAL Declan Moynihan has orders to clandestinely shut down a notorious slave brothel in a Middle East war zone. Laila Catami, his accidental captive, is the mysterious woman being brought in to run the brothel. Or so she says.

Laila knows she’ll use anyone and any means to save her sister, even if that means using sex to destroy the honorable career of the Navy SEAL who accidentally rescues her.

A Navy SEAL follows the rules. A desperate woman, trapped in a Muslim world, must break them. Will he risk a court-martial, or even his life, to save her?

Excerpt:

“Believe what you want.” Dec hovered over Laila. “This area has a lot more military activity than we’d been led to believe. Our only goal now is to get the hell out. Hence the speed and the caution.”

“I’ll be happy to get out of here myself,” she snapped.

“This is not a debate.” He reached over, slid his hand under the blanket and had one cuff fastened around her wrist before she knew what was happening.

“How am I supposed to sleep like this?” Laila waved her arm.

“The same way I will.” He snapped the other cuff around his own wrist. “Uncomfortably.”

“It’s pretty pathetic when you need to handcuff a woman to get her to stay near you,” she said lamely.

His eyes glinted suddenly. “Sometimes it’s fun.”

200x300Red Riding Hood

Blurb: Little Red Riding Hood is a happy-go-lucky girl who enjoys having the attention of the boys in the village. Then a stranger comes to the forest, a man known only as Wolf. To the dismay of the village boys, he enters the rivalry for her favors. Wolf has all the skills to make her want him. But does she have the strength to choose him in defiance of all her friends and family? Even more importantly, is he the right man for her?

And what she should do about Granny’s warnings?

Excerpt:

The Wolf sighed. “I’m amazed at my own restraint,” he murmured. “Stand up, Red Riding Hood. I want to talk with you.”

She stood. “Don’t you want to kiss me again?”

He laughed and she saw his white teeth. “Of course I do. It’s fun, isn’t it? But there’s more than kissing.” He bent his head, and used his teeth on the side of her neck. His hands moved at her throat, and her red cape slithered off her shoulders. She moaned, and sagged toward him. He continued to bite her, harder at times, little nips at other moments. Her entire body trembled, even the goose bumps that covered her skin.

When he finally raised his head, she was stretched taut with some kind of hunger in her body. Not the hunger when she wanted food, but a foreign, itchy, wanting need that filled her from head to toe.

His gray eyes smoldered down onto hers. “Do you know about all the bad things a man wants to do with a girl like you?”

“No,” she gasped. “Not at all. My mother told me that when I chose a boy from the village, he would show me everything I needed to know.”

The Wolf bent his head to her again. “You won’t,” he said, “be learning the ways of a man from a boy in the village.”

Note: Red Riding Hood is a fantasy fable, not a shapeshifting story. But there is always a question about who, exactly, the Wolf is. 🙂

EBOOK-Carson-LoveCharm01-Ashley-e1355005581844Love Charm for Ashley

My story featured today has a touch of paranormal. The love charm itself has a touch of magic embedded in it – the good kind of magic!

Blurb: A lonely teacher casts her homemade love charm into the cold waters of Boston Harbor. She wants desperately to believe in her unique magic ingredient to win her a “forever after” love.

The hot Special Forces soldier who appears is desperate for her. But the world is his stomping ground, and nothing lasts for more than a night.

Does the love charm have enough power to create the magic of true love?

Excerpt:

She needed to scotch that. Forcing a smile onto her face, Ashley waved a careless hand. “Alas, the love charm is no more. It was fun while it lasted, but tonight, we consigned it to the bottom of the sea.”

“That’s too bad,” Glenn said. “I was going to ask you to cast your spell on me. See if I could be caught.”

Slowly, vertebrae by vertebrae, her back tightened as if she were in the grip of a powerful spell herself. Was he making fun of her? He wanted a spell cast? He’d learn to be careful what he wished for.

She dropped her chin, tilted her head and looked up at him through her lashes. “Oh, I’m sure it would require a powerful spell to catch you. Brenna’s told me a lot about you, too.”

He laughed. “And the tales grew with every telling, I have no doubt.”

Good comeback, but she wasn’t done with him yet. She tapped his chest with her free hand. “You look a little underdressed for the weather, big boy,” she said. “You need some warming up?”

He looked down at her and met her eyes. “I could be standing here stark naked, and I wouldn’t be cold when you’re looking at me like that.”

Love Charm ThumbLove Charm for Dakota

Blurb: Nantucket is the home of hedge fund titans, old money and hidebound tradition. Habits are comfortable, and the habits of the rich are very comfortable. Into Cabot Saltonstall’s sedate world blows Dakota Bishop, possessor of a wild spirit and a magical love charm. Cabot’s blue-blood family history includes an ancestor who resigned from the Salem Witch trials, because he refused to believe in witchcraft.

But Cabot is all too willing to be bewitched.

Dakota can’t stay still long enough for anyone to tie her down, nor is Cabot the right kind of guy for her. If only he’d have sex with her so she could get him out of her system. Why does he need to be so traditional with his emotions and plans for the future? Does she know enough of witchcraft to overcome the spell of the accidentally cast love charm?

Excerpt:

“What about the roses, Cabot? Did you send them?” Dakota asked.

Cabot’s eyes widened in surprise. “Is there someone else who might have?”

“You were so angry with me.”

“I still loved you.”

“How did you know that? We’d just met.”

He shrugged. “I knew the moment I saw you. I’ll never forget you standing on that boat in your red cape, your black hair flying in the wind, the snowflakes kissing you exactly like I wanted to.” His gaze swept up her body. “Everywhere.”

Dakota shivered, even though the heat in his eyes burned her. “And yet,” she said, “you turned me down for sex.”

SF WEB PROMO smallBlurb: When spring break fun turns into crime, Susanna must choose between chasing bling and chasing a hot dolphin trainer. But straight-arrow Joaquin has no intention of being the boy toy of his flighty classmate. Too bad lust has such a good grip on him.

Excerpt: I knew Joaquin was interested. He hadn’t been able to hide it when he’d clutched me against himself in the water. Not that an erection was such a big deal with a guy, but it gave me the little push I needed.

I trailed my hand down the front of his wetsuit, until I reached his waist. The suit was not sexy. But I heard him inhale a sharp breath and my imagination jumped into overdrive. I knew what was just below his waist, or at least what had been. Was he still aroused, even as he warned me off? He held still for a timeless moment, and we both wondered how far I’d go.

I had to know. My hand drifted lower, trapped between the sleek rubber of his wetsuit and the buoyant embrace of the green sea. I reached nirvana, right below his waistline. The bulge was unmistakable.

I touched it for one second as he sucked in another breath. Then my hand was jerked away, and crushed in his grip for another moment until he dropped it and moved away.

“I said no, Susanna.” His voice was deep and husky.

“Don’t you want me?”

“Of course I want you. I’ve spent the last half hour looking down into your cleavage and I’m harder than those poles holding up the tiki.” He nodded at the dock. “But in my world, you don’t just take what you want.”

I don’t have vampires. But my hero this week lives in the imaginary kingdom of Monterra, a Kindle World set in Europe between Italy and France. Please join in the fun!

RM WEB PROMO medium

Blurb: Alessandra is forced to adopt a name that isn’t really hers, when she returns to Monterra to claim an inheritance…that isn’t really hers. Raul, heir to the dukedom of Forli, is determined to unmask her masquerade. He needs the same property she’s claiming and he’s sure that his need is more desperate than hers.

This battle will be fiercely waged. Not in a court of law.

But in the hearts of Alessandra and her fairy-tale duke.

Excerpt: “You’re making me nervous,” Alessandra said. “Very nervous.”

“Nothing to it.” Sarah waved a hand as if to dispose of any worries. “All you’re going to do is go in the sauna, lie down like you don’t have a care in the world, relax in the soothing heat—”

“And?”

“And pop up when Raul comes in.” Sarah opened one of the lockers.

“Pop up?” Alessandra repeated. “Like a jack in the box?”

“A naked jack in the box,” Sarah said with a giggle.

Alessandra moaned.

ARe-Carson-LoveCharm02-BrennaLove Charm for Brenna

Blurb: Brenna casts her love charm at a ritzy Venetian masquerade ball. She knows exactly which guy she wants to win. But two intriguing men appear at the ball. Can she see beneath the disguises to her own true love, even if he’s the unexpected one?

Excerpt: “Joe?” Brenna looked up at the tall, lean length of her best male friend as he clapped a hand on the sleeve of her Belle costume. “What are you doing here?”

She’d invited him to be her guest at the Venetian-themed masked ball, but he’d declined, saying he wasn’t one for charity galas. Since she couldn’t drive in her long dress, he’d given her a ride to the suburban estate north of Boston where the Carnevale was being held, but then he’d left.

Yet, here he stood, wearing the mask that was required for entrance to the event. It gave him an exotic, unfamiliar look. Surprisingly, Brenna’s heart skipped a beat.

“Don’t really know.” Joe looked at her through the slits in his plain black mask. “Drove halfway back to Boston and then I had this overwhelming urge to help you out with that crazy love scheme you’ve been talking about.”

“It’s not a scheme, Joe. It’s a love charm.” Brenna glanced down at the black water gleaming beneath the white, arched bridge on which they stood. “Or it was.”

“You’ve already let it go?” Joe sounded – resigned?

“Yeah. Half an hour ago. And nothing has happened yet.” Brenna tried not to sound despondent, but she’d placed so much faith in the charm. She knew her target was at this costume party, because she’d spotted him earlier. But the enormous tent was dark, crowded, and noisy with the din of hundreds of revelers. ♦  ♦   ♦

Eclipse of the Heart    Available NowEclipse 200x300

Amanda Thompson is offered her dream job as a junior executive at a Manhattan venture firm. The terms are a little vague, but she has a seriously ill sister to provide for, and her new boss is a seriously attractive man. Failure is not an option, so she’ll keep her eye on the prize, and her heart and body out of the mix…despite the boss’s overly personal interest in her.

Logan Winter is a hard-driving business tycoon who likes his sex life hot and his emotional life cold. His new high-end call girl is a little different from the ordinary bimbos who fill the role. That’s okay, since he’s ready for different. Even discovering the mistake that’s been made is okay, because he knows how to get what he wants…and he wants Amanda.

Excerpt: Amanda moved into Logan’s arms, feeling his strength as he gently pulled her into the embrace of the dance. His warm hand wrapped securely around hers. They began moving, perfectly attuned, though she had to hold her head up stiffly to avoid resting it on his chest.

The music curled around them, lifting them, moving them over the floor in time to its sensuous beat. She found herself drawn ever more closely into his arms.

Until they were pressed together from knees to shoulders, and she became aware of something even harder than his arm pressing into her. She tried to pull away subtly. He loosened his arms a fraction.

“It was inevitable,” he murmured. “Good thing it’s dark in here.”

She refused to look at him. Dark as it was, he’d see how much this was affecting her. Every time he brushed against her, she melted a little bit more. Soon she’d be a puddle on the floor.

“I don’t think this is decent,” she muttered, glancing around. “We should sit down.”

“You don’t think I’m the first man in the world who’s had an erection on the dance floor, do you?”

Devonwood 200Duke of Devonwood     Available Now!

Miranda is not about to let some English duke tell her what she can do with her own inheritance. This is, after all, the twenty-first century. Unfortunately, her father appointed the duke her trustee.

Fortunately, she’s determined, hard-working, and maybe a touch devious. She vows to do whatever it takes to foil the duke…

The Duke of Devonwood could handle Miranda and her schemes…if only she weren’t so enticing.

Excerpt: “I don’t think my father’s will gives you power over every move I make.” Sarcasm was her only weapon, so Miranda laid it on thickly.

Devon’s gaze ran over her in that way he had that, unfortunately, buzzed her head to toe every time. “Go ahead,” he said. “Wake up your step-mother. If she doesn’t get any rest, she’ll be sick longer, and that will give you a good reason to stick around and torment me.”

“Torment you?” Good idea. She turned her head from the buffet, tilted her chin down, and looked at him through her eyelashes. “If you don’t want me in your life tormenting you, the solution is in your hands. Give me my money, and we’ll be gone faster than you can give me a once-over.”

Holy moly, she hadn’t meant to say that. Her eyes flashed guiltily to his face. Had he noticed?

He smiled at her. Of course he had.

“The once-over,” he said smoothly, “is my only reward so far for being saddled with you two.” His glance flicked over her lazily. “I like the miniskirt.”

“It’s a sundress,” she corrected, just to annoy him. A short sundress, granted.

ARe-Carson-LoveCharm03-CarlottaLove Charm for Carlotta

Blurb: Carlotta doesn’t believe in love charms. Especially not when the bad boy hockey player from her past suddenly re-appears in her life. Has the love charm brought him back to her? She doesn’t intend to find out. But, in the small town island atmosphere of Martha’s Vineyard, it’s hard to escape your past. Do people change, or will she be courting heartbreak again if she succumbs once more to her high school sweetheart?

Excerpt: Boots clattered across the deep front porch, and now Carlotta’s heart beat too wildly. The love of her life—No! The boy who’d broken her heart, when her heart was a fragile, teenaged receptacle of hope and optimism. The boy who’d never looked back when he’d been offered a chance to play with a professional hockey team in the National Hockey League.

Carlotta kneaded the bread fiercely, reminding herself that she’d practically killed herself to eliminate the impulsiveness she was born with. She would never repeat the mistakes of her youth. She no longer bolted headlong into ill-conceived temptations.

Except for that craziness last weekend when her friends Ashley and Dakota had talked her into casting a spell with that— She froze again.

The love charm. A blue silk packet made up of a lock of her curly black hair, a ground-up silver bean her friends had given her, and one of the overblown blue flowers from the hydrangea bush at the corner of her yard.

She didn’t believe in charms and spells, but she’d tossed the silk-enclosed bundle into the moat at the DeCordova benefit she’d attended.

The Duke of Devonwood could handle Miranda and her schemes…if only she weren’t so enticing.

Excerpt: Miranda stood there, stunned. Had Devon just kissed her like she was the only thing in his world?

Had she kissed him back as if he were the only thing in her world?

But her arms were empty now. Obviously, he hadn’t been as shattered as she was. His brain had continued to function, forming a taunt, even as she mindlessly kissed him. Now it was time for her to regain control.

She stepped back, hoping he wouldn’t notice her agitated breathing, even though she could see his chest working like a bellows. “It was just a kiss,” she said, her voice trembling. “We weren’t exactly down and dirty on the schoolroom table.”

His eyes gleamed. “Now there’s an interesting idea,” he said. “Glad to know our minds are running in the same direction.”

“In your dreams!”

“No,” he corrected. “In my fantasies.”

“You can’t doubt that.” Cabot pressed himself briefly against her for just a moment, and then she was cold again. “If that feels like disinterest,” he said, “I think I’m insulted.”

Part of her wanted to giggle. His body was certainly announcing his interest as blatantly as thunder announced a storm. But the major part of her was confused. Why would he deny himself? Deny her?

He touched her cheek, and then her lips. “As much as I want sex right now, there’s something I want more.”

More? What more was there between two people who had nothing in common but a strong sexual attraction? She was a world traveler who’d never learned to put down roots. He was a strong oak tree with roots firmly planted in this speck of land out in the ocean.

She stared at him. He had wanted her. She hadn’t been mistaken about that. But now—now he didn’t. His honor, or his word, or something that meant a lot to him, was more important. She didn’t know what had happened, nor did it matter. She had to salvage what dignity she could because she didn’t do being left. She’d had a lifetime of being left behind and she didn’t need an encore performance from Cabot Saltonstall.

“Okay, then,” she managed to say. “Good night.” She closed the door. Tomorrow she would be in Charlotte Amalie, U.S. Virgin Islands.

Carlotta giggled. “I think we did that up pretty well.”

“I enjoyed every minute of what we did.” He tweaked a nipple. “But that wasn’t my fantasy.”

“It wasn’t?” Her breath hitched.

“Oh, no. My fantasy involves a spin down to the beach on my bike.”

Her eyes widened. “Now?”

He gave her a slow smile. “With you wearing nothing but the apron.”
